Running two trigger systems simultaneously

In this example, I’m going to show you how to combine two loss recovery systems with two different types of betting (back and lay) on the same markets.

The main problem that bugs most bettors who want to do this is that you need to keep track of profits and losses separately for each type of system. So for example, if you back and lay in the same market, the resulting market P/L will not reflect the profit/loss from the particular bet.

The triggers below show you how to account for profits and losses separately for each system.

With a bit of extra work according to this template, you can transform the triggers to work according to any betting system you need.

So here is what the triggers in the file will do:

System 1

Back on the favourite at In-Play. After a loss, multiply the bet by multiplier1. After a win, reset the bet to its original size.

Once the target profit has been achieved, stop betting.

System 2

Lay on the second favourite before the off. After a loss, add the previous loss to the next bet. After a win, if the loss has been completely recovered, reset the bet to its original size.

Once the target profit has been achieved, stop betting.

Take a look at the sample account statement below:

Two system statement

You can see that the size of each back or lay bet changes in accordance with the respective system, with triggers functioning independently of each other.

Because the triggers wait until the previous market has been settled before they make the next bet, the systems may get out of sync when one of the systems cannot make a bet yet because it lays before the off and the previous lay bets has not been settled. But by the time this market goes in-play, the previous market may have already been settled, and so the second system backs, with the market having only one bet eventually.

Disclaimer: I have not tested the profitability of any of these systems and thus I do not offer any analysis. They are presented as a pure example of how to implement two different systems that potentially bet in the same markets.

Note: if you just want to bet in different types of sports in parallel, e.g. in football and horse racing, there is an easier way to isolate the two systems from each other. Just set each trigger to be executed in the respective type of sports (i.e. Soccer Games or Horse Racing), and they will happily ignore each other’s markets.
